PRIYANKA - KAREENA CATFIGHT TURNS UGLY!

Whatever little friendship Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor shared seems to be turning sour. Is Shahid Kapur the bone of contention?

Perhaps it’s right that two actresses of equal stature can’t be friends. The cracks between Priyanka and Kareena appeared recently when the latter claimed that Priyanka and Shahid are creating unnecessary controversies involving Bebo to gain publicity for Kaminey .

This doesn’t seem to have gone down well with Priyanka. At the launch of the official website of her upcoming film Pyaar Impossible with Yashraj Films , a reporter asked Priyanka the question regarding Kareena’s allegation. Her reply was chilling and caustic enough to suggest that not all is well between Priyanka and Bebo.

“Kaminey is directed by the renowned filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj ; it is produced by an established film corporation; it has Shahid Kapur in a double role; it has me playing a Maharashtrian woman and so on. It definitely doesn’t need anyone else or anything else to get publicity. Thank you, but no thank you!” was Priyanka’s response.

The growing animosity between the two actresses is now set to spill over to the box office as well, because their respective films ‘Kaminey’ and Kambakkht Ishq are slated to hit the theatres around the same time, reports say.

As for ‘Pyaar Impossible’, Priyanka says she signed the film because she loved the script. She also denied that the film was a copy of the Hollywood rom-com ‘Notting Hill’, though she admitted that there might be certain superficial similarities in the two films. For instance, ‘Pyaar Impossible’ is a tale of almost impossible romance between a geek ( Uday Chopra ) and a beauty (Priyanka). The movie, also starring Dino Morea , went on floors last month and it’s website www.pyaarimpossible.com was launched by Priyanka on Tuesday.
